When you think of weddings you can’t help but think about flowers – centrepieces, buttonholes, confetti – and if you’re Indian – flower garlands!
In India, fresh flowers are plentiful and relatively cheap so houses are often adorned with marigolds and carnations that also give a fresh scent in the festive home.
In the UK, roses are often used for buttonholes and flower garlands but consider this:
- Roses don’t last very long
- They are delicate flowers so don’t work well when the temperature peaks
- More importantly – carnations are a much cheaper and versatile option!
